EcoSmart Eco 11 240V 13KW
This review is from: EcoSmart ECO 11 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 13KW at 240 Volts with Patented Self Modulating Technology 5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Tankless heater , well packaged, good quality materials, better than comparable Rheem model, May 5, 2014 By K. C Wilson (Sacramento, CA) Ordered this to replace a Rheem RTE 13. base specs are identical, 60 amp dipole breaker, 13kw, 6 gauge wire to breaker. The Rheem Model was causing the Lights in the place to flicker when the hot water was onso I ordered this one to replace it. The EcoSmart page mentioned that other models might cause the lights to flicker and there energy management helps avoid that problem. After installing the EcoSmart and testing the light flickering problem ceased to exist. So kudos to them for designing a system that addresses this problem. This does look much better than the Rheem model and has better materials in general, even down to the wiring bundle to connect to the existing 6 guage in the walls Only con I could give it would be for the manual did not include specific directions for the wiring. Has 3 wires Ground wire that is Yellow and green Black Wire Red wire Rheem model had a bare ground, black wire and a white wire. Wiring to breaker box is bare gound, black and white wires which is a pretty standard Wired it back up this way: Typically Black always goes to black, the Red wire should then tie back to white and the green/yellow is goes to the bare ground It is heating the water much better than the Rheem model. Water flow is good and handles a shower and faucet just fine. I like the digital meter for setting heat level. Unit can also be turned off by pushing on the dial for the heat adjustment. This was installed in and external buidling that has a bathroom and 2 sinks. Did not buy it for whole house use because the external building will see much more limited use how water wise. Highly recommended, will update review after a year’s use.
