Rheem RTE 13 4GM 13KW 240Volt
This review is from: Rheem RTE 13 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 4 GPM (Tools & Home Improvement) Have had this unit for 2.5 years and Love it (even though it just quit working). Called customer service who were quite helpful in determining the problem with the unit. They had me test voltage in and resistance at each heating element and found that elements are bad. Parts on the unit are unserviceable so I’m getting a brand new unit with a brand new 10 year warranty. They even gave me a direct line to Home Depot customer care to handle the exchange. Easy Peasy. At a cost of about $200 for the unit, $50 for wire, an extra breaker laying around, and $10 for pipe and fittings, I’ve saved a TON of money by firing my expensive gas provider, altogether. They were charging me about $30/month just to send me a bill not including any usage. Bye bye GAS co! Hello savings. Unit is installed as whole house heater in place of 50Gal gas unit. Plenty of water and plenty hot, just beware of any other usage by other loads while showering and you are golden!
